Ways we can work together

Coaching in nature

Walk and talk in the Chilterns, and let the landscape provide the inspiration.

Choose the option that fits where you are right now. If you’re not sure, we’ll work it out together.

Step away from the circling

Do your thoughts go round and round when you sit at a screen? Do you have a topic you can’t quite get hold of, or a decision you keep putting off?

Take it outside. Bring whatever’s on your mind and we’ll walk and talk it through together, with the Chilterns around us. Nature gives us a safe space to step away from the noise, and endless inspiration when we need it.

You choose the topic. I’ll bring the questions, the encouragement and a calm, unhurried pace.

Why walking helps

I coach outdoors because it works.

Nature calms

Research suggests birdsong helps calm the nervous system because it signals to our bodies that we’re safe. If birds are singing, it means no predators are near. When you feel safe, you can think more clearly and speak more freely.

Moving forward helps you move forward

Moving your body can help move your mind. Walking can stop thoughts from spiralling downwards and open up new possibilities.

Movement suits many brains

Some people think best when they’re moving. For some ADHD brains, the physical movement is calming and makes focus easier.

Side by side is gentler

Walking next to each other is less intense than sitting face to face. It can be easier to say the thing you haven’t said out loud yet.

The practical bits

Where we meet. I’ll suggest a few options and we’ll agree what works best for you, including comfort and accessibility.

Just you. I love dogs, but this hour is for you and your topic, so I ask that clients come without their gorgeous pups.

Times. Early mornings and early afternoons are available. In the summer, some evening sessions are too.

If the weather’s wild. I’ll get in touch and we can go ahead (with the right coat), move to Zoom or phone, or reschedule. Whichever suits you best.

Why nature feels like home to me

When I was growing up, friends of ours lived in a small village in Derbyshire. Whenever I went there, surrounded by hills and fields, it felt like a safe place to step away from whatever was going on. My mind opened up to more possibilities.

I’ve never forgotten that feeling. Nature feels like home to me. It calms my nervous system, it feeds my creativity, and walking helps me unblock when my mind starts to circle.

I’d love to share that with you.
